Rehabilitation

Learning how to live the best life possible

Our on-site Rehabilitation Center, staffed by employees of Harlee Manor, is designed as a practice forum for re-learning everyday basic tasks. Our shared goal is always to restore a sense of independence, by encouraging residents to master essential household activities such as cleaning, cooking, doing laundry and bathing themselves.

A unique feature of Rehabilitation at Harlee Manor is the rapport that develops between our on-staff clinicians and their clients. Interacting with a team of skilled employees with whom they share an ongoing, daily relationship, patients develop a level of confidence that empowers them to consistently meet and surpass their ownand their doctorsgoals.

Re-education: A pragmatic approach

If a patient has recently suffered a fall, our therapists may recommend the installation of a shower chair in the bathroom to ensure safety and stability upon their return home, and practice the movements necessary to use it. Stroke victims often require our assistance in learning to prepare meals, as they often suffer paralysis in one of their arms. In order to facilitate simple tasks such as cutting fruit or peeling vegetables, we will recommend and oversee the selection of adaptive equipment.

In every case, our primary objective is to return the person to their prior quality of life and capability, either in their own home environment or in an active senior retirement community.

During my five month extended stay at Harlee Manor, the staff showed me extreme courtesy and respect. The staff was professional, understanding, caring, loving and any other superlatives available. I would definitely recommend your great facility to others. The management staff can be very proud of their employees and that they were instrumental in their hiring. All of you will never know how much you have made my lengthy stay at Harlee Manor actually endurable and will always be in my heart.
